ICC World Twenty20 - England 2009
The Twenty20 juggernaut heads to the Old Dart in 2009 for ICC World Twenty20 with matches at Lords, the Oval, Trent Bridge & Taunton.The inaugural ICC World Twenty20 competition took place in South Africa in 2007 with India defeating Pakistan by 5 runs in a thrilling final at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
Strange to say but that was in the early days of T20 & this form of the game has only got bigger since then. Highlights of the 2007 tournament included Yuvraj Singh's incredible 36 runs off a single over against the poms, Chris Gayle's hundred on opening night, Binger taking a hat-trick against Bangladesh & the brilliance of Man of the Tournament; Shahid Afridi.
